2021 Toyota Prius Prime Fuel Economy & Performance Capabilities
You have probably seen certain vehicle commercials that brag about this much horsepower or that much torque. In reality, those numbers rarely matter, especially when considering power-to-weight ratio, as well as the fact that most drivers simply won’t notice the difference in power during their daily drive. What is far more important, and what drivers will notice, however, is efficiency.
That’s why we are such big fans of the 2021 Toyota Prius Prime. It has an impressive fuel economy alongside its performance capabilities so that you spend noticeably less time at the gas station and less money on fuel.
Prius Prime MPG and Power
Though you would rarely use it as such, the Prius Prime can operate as a pure electric vehicle for a time. If you somehow run out of gas and this becomes necessary, the Prius Prime can run for an estimated 25 miles on a single electric charge. But, what is really impressive is how efficient it is when operated as a hybrid, in which gas the vehicle is capable of an EPA-estimated 54 mpg combined. With all of this in mind, the Prius Prime has a total range of 640 miles before you might need to fill up at the pump.
In addition to the electric motor, the Prius Prime has a 4-cylinder engine that, when combined as part of the entire hybrid system, manages to pump out 105 lb-ft of torque and 121 horsepower.
