Not every model can be updated each year, especially with so many huge things happening for Toyota in 2020. We certainly didn’t expect the Toyota Sienna to get updated as well but turns out it does have a few new things for the upcoming model year. We thought we’d highlight exactly what’s new in the #SwaggerWagon minivan, to show you what it has to offer for the upcoming model year.

The biggest change for the 2020 model year where the Sienna is concerned is the addition of its own Nightshade Edition. Outside of that? Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay compatibility as well as the Toyota Safety Sense P package are now standard across the entire Sienna lineup, which is pretty huge on both fronts. The only other change was the addition of a new acoustic windshield to the SE trim level, which makes the cabin a bit quieter as you drive.
What is the Nightshade Edition?
Nightshade might sound familiar, as this isn’t the first time we’ve talked about a special edition trim level by that name. Back in November, we discussed the 2019 Toyota Highlander Nightshade Edition, and now Toyota is making one for the Sienna as well.
For the 2020 Toyota Sienna, the Nightshade Edition package starts at just $700 and adds several design enhancements. Available only on SE and SE Premium trim levels, the Nightshade Edition includes a sport mesh front grille, door handles, 19” wheels (or 18” for all-wheel-drive models), a spoiler, mirror caps and Toyota badges all in black – hence the name, Nightshade. Furthermore, the appearance package is only available in four exterior colors: Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Salsa Red Pearl and Super White. Regardless of exterior color, the cabin will have an all-black interior.
