As we near the end of the 2018 calendar year and start heading into 2019, it’s come to the point where many 2019 model-year cars, trucks and SUVs have hit the market and have started to generate buzz. Each vehicle that debuts, though, comes with it a lot of hype and claims to be the best in its class. But which models can actually back up the claim?
At Hesser Toyota, we believe that Toyota vehicles can stack up against the best of the best and still come out on top. But we’re not just going to tell you that, we’re going to show you too! In this model comparison page, we’re going to be looking at two of the newest large crossovers, the 2019 Toyota Highlander and 2019 Honda Pilot. Which enters the market with more to offer drivers in 2019? That’s what we’re going to find out by comparing the two models on their efficiency, performance and space. Note that we’re comparing the 2019 Toyota Highlander’s base trim with the V6 engine and the 2019 Honda Pilot base trim.

As you can see from our comparison table, it’s no surprise why both have entered the 2019 market with so much hype and excitement! Both offer great value in terms of the big three when it comes to large crossovers, performance, space and efficiency. It’s a close one to call, but the 2019 Toyota Highlander just edges out the 2019 Honda Pilot.
To start, both the 2019 Highlander and 2019 Pilot are 8-seat large crossovers, offering drivers roughly the same amount of interior space. The 2019 Toyota Highlander, however, offers the same space while also being more efficient than the 2019 Pilot. And, as if that weren’t enough, the 2019 Highlander also offers more performance in the way of horsepower and torque than the 2019 Pilot. All in all, the 2019 Toyota Highlander checks off all the boxes for what drivers are looking for in a large crossover.
But wait, that’s not the only thing drivers care about, what about safety? The 2019 Toyota Highlander didn’t' forget about that either as it comes standard with some of the latest safety features and technologies including Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection.
